30/7/2018 0 Comments Periods...Yes, trans women can get a sort of period. I have read many stories about this over the past year, and last week, I realized that the symptoms I was having were in fact symptoms of my own cycle. I have now started to track my daily experiences to see how regular this is and exactly how long it lasts.

27/7/2018 0 Comments So Many THings...Wow! It has been so long since I updated my life here!
Well, first of all, next Friday, I have my consultation with Dr. Kim for vaginoplasty! I can't believe it is happening! Although I can't say I ever felt like I didn't like my penis, I have always wanted a vagina. I truly can't believe that it can happen and that I can actually do it in my home town now! Yesterday, I watched the documentary, Venus of Mars. It is, of course, about my friend Venus DeMars. (And I can't believe that I can say that!) The film has hit me pretty hard. We are of the same generation and her story parallels mine in many ways. So much of her description of life as a transgender person resonated with me. I find the ways we dealt with it differently fascinating. She pushed forward in a public way and I withdrew into myself. At least I did eventually figure it out and am so much happier for it. I am in the middle of making a new corset for Venus right now. We did a first fitting last week and it looked great. I couple minor modifications to the pattern have been completed and a second mock-up is ready for a fitting. That should happen next week, then I will push to get the final corset done before the All the Pretty Horses show in Duluth on August 25th. We are making the trip to see the show! We haven't been to Duluth since first came out. It was where I spent my first few days living as myself. Anyway, Life is really good. Creative projects are starting to flow again. We will see you soon! |
