26/11/2016 1 Comment Black fridayFriday my wife and I went to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts for their Black Friday event. Free coffee and treats and admission to the special show.
While waiting in line, the woman in front of us recognized my voice. It was a former coworker that I hadn't seen in years. We sat with our coffee and caught up. I told her that I had just come out as transgender. It was no surprise to her and we had the best time talking and looking at art. It was a wonderful start to the day. 25/11/2016 0 Comments NipplesYesterday was the first time I appeared as the really me to my in laws. It all went pretty smoothly.
As a reward, this morning when I was showering, I noticed that my nipples appeared slightly puffy. I was kind of surprised by that. Today is only the 8th day on hormones so I wasn't expecting that. This afternoon I noticed that I had a definite awareness of my nipples. I guess things are starting to get going. 24/11/2016 0 Comments ThanksgivingI have now been on estrogen for a week and I am very thankful. I can't say anything feels different but everything feels amazing. So far this feels like the right thing for me.
20/11/2016 0 Comments What's in a nameI have been thinking about my name lately. Even though I am fine with being called Mike or Michael, I am starting to consider changing it on legal documents, especially if a change my gender. I think it would minimize problems. I have been thinking Michelle or Michaela as options.
20/11/2016 0 Comments Feeling goodIt has been a few days now since I started on the estrogen patch and I am feeling pretty good. It's way to early for any physical changes to be showing and the mental changes are probably just the knowledge that I have started, but still, I am feeling good!
17/11/2016 0 Comments And so it begins!Today I had my follow up appointment for HRT and it went very well. My doctor likes to start with one medication at a time. It didn't matter which and since I didn't really have an idea which one, she decided on the estrogen. She put in the prescription and I now have my first patch on!
17/11/2016 0 Comments The Big Day!In just a few short hours I should be beginning my hormone therapy! I am excited and nervous. More to follow.
15/11/2016 0 Comments 2 more to goIt's nearly time to start saying goodbye to the boys and to welcome the girls!
14/11/2016 0 Comments 3 days and countingThis is the big week! As I have stated before, I am really excited!
Also, tomorrow is new hair day! This is my first appointment since getting my bangs cut. I love them. They are staying with some minor modifications. I also think there needs to be more layers towards the front. I have my list of things to talk with my stylist about. I am also thinking that this haircut will need to be maintained every 6 weeks as opposed to the 8 weeks that I have been doing. It still looks good, but the back is feeling really long, being maybe 1 1/2" long! That's pretty amusing coming from someone who used to have hair down to their butt. We had a talk with my wife's parents on the phone yesterday. They are reluctantly supportive right now. They want their daughter to be happy and we both understand that. It will take time, but over all I think they will be cool in the long run. |
